Our ED class students are in grades kindergarten through second. Our program is made up of one classroom teacher and two special education assistants, in addition to several behavior intervention implementation specialists supporting some of our students.
Students are provided with emotional and behavioral support as well as core academics. We emphasize the development social skills, increasing self-control, self-awareness and minimizing triggers that affect their behavior. In order to foster positive behaviors, students are provided with effective behavioral strategies, specific individual behavior plans, and continuous team support. Keeping the communication channels open between home and school is key in meeting our students’ individual needs. In addition, district behaviorist support is provided on an ongoing basis.
